Ubuntu 12.04/14.04 VPN Manual

Instalation

  1. Uncompress the file vpn-udp-22-user.name-config.zip that can be found in your user home, in the VPN folder.
  2. Open the Ubuntu Software Center and search «network manager».
  3. In «Network (network-manager-gnome)» press More info, check «Network management framework (OpenVPN plugin GNOME GUI)» and select Apply.
  4. In the network connection icon select VPN Connections» VPN Configuration. Choose Import (In Ubuntu 14.04, select «Add…» and in the new window choose «Import VPN configuration…») and search the file vpn-citius.ovpn that was inside the zip file.
  5. In the new window enter your username and then twice your password, once in the Password field and again in the Private key password field (same password for both fields).
  6. In the IPv4 settings tab select Routes…. In the new window check the option Usar esta conexión só para os recursos na súa rede and press Accept.
  7. To have the names of USC computers resolved correctly 1): In the same tab, in the dropdown list, choose Só direccións automáticas. In the field DNS Servers add 193.144.75.9, 193.144.75.12 and in Search domain add usc.es.
  8. Lastly press Save…

Connect and disconnect from the VPN

To connect press the network Para conectarte, pulsa no icono indicador de conexións de rede e selecciona Conexións de rede » Conexións VPN » vpn-citius (o nome pode variar dependendo do nome da conexión que puxeras no proceso de instalación).

Para desconectarte, pulsa de novo no icono indicador de conexións de rede e selecciona Conexións de rede » Conexións VPN » Desconectar VPN.
